Allyson earned an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Health Sciences from York University before switching fields and heading to Osgoode Hall Law School, where she won the Blaney McMurtry Stapells Friedman prize in environmental law. Allyson is a member of the bars of Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario.
Allyson is an accomplished athlete, having played both soccer and hockey for most of her life. She has competed at multiple national championships in each sport. She was a long-time member of the Brampton Thunder in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League and is one of the co-founders of that league. Allyson was inducted into the York University Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.
